About Teddy and Mabel and me

My Story

I am Nikki, the owner and creator at Teddy and Mabel Interiors. I am based in the beautiful harbour town of Amble in Northumberland. I have a passion for fabrics and vibrant colours, many of these are influenced by the glorious colours that surround us in this beautiful part of the United Kingdom, whether through the local landscape, skies or floral and fauna.

 

I have always enjoyed being creative and, dare I say, entrepreneurial. I started by making and selling pencil skirts for friends when I was at school. A career in various fields including Finance, followed but there was no room in this industry for creativity so I embraced my artistic side in my spare time by making lampshades and cushions. I decided on the business name “Teddy and Mabel” as a reference to my paternal grandparent, 

 

In 2023 circumstances forced me to reconsider my work life balance and in 2024 I started an upholstery course with renown upholster, Anthony Devine. Upholstery is a natural extension to my existing product range and I love that one piece of furniture can make a real style statement in a room.
